UWP: CHRISTINA BARRINGER

Christina Barringer was born and raised in South Florida.

She has an educational background in marine biology and speech-language pathology.

She has let her underwater passion take her around the world. During her college years, she studied abroad in Mexico, Australia, and Belize, and interned in South Africa where she researched Great White sharks.

Christina has been diving since 2007, and is a PADI Divemaster. She started off snorkeling as a child, using underwater disposable cameras.

She got her first digital camera in 2007 and from there, her passion for underwater photography grew.

Throughout the years, her camera systems have “grown” and so has her love for the ocean. She currently shoots the Canon 6D in a Nauticam housing.

Christina’s photos have been sold at Coast Boutique in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and featured in art galleries.

She was recently awarded "Best of Photography 2018" by the Mayor at the Pembroke Pines art competition.

Additionally, Christina placed 2nd in the portrait category of the prestigious Ocean Art 2018 competition.

She has also published articles and has been interviewed on SCUBA Radio.

Currently, Christina is also pursuing a career as a speech therapist.

While traveling and diving she puts her heart and soul into capturing the beauty of the underwater world with the goal of creating awareness and promoting conservation.

UWP WAYNE LAI

WAYNE LAI

Wayne  is currently a professional investor in the Hong Kong stock and bond market, as well as being a member of the Law Society of Hong Kong.

Born and bred in the southeastern coast of China, Wayne is an ocean lover. He learned water-color painting when he was a student in high school and university.

Wayne learned scuba diving in 2015 and then started his underwater photography on his macro trip to Anilao in 2016.

He was deeply impressed by the beauty and behavior of the critters there under the focus light.

He has always been enthusiastic about underwater macro photography since then and frequently visited Lembeh, Romblon and Anilao.

After one and a half year, he started to shoot wide angle and got some nice shots during his trips to Port St Johns, the Red Sea, Raja Ampat, Jardines de la Reina, Tromso, Trinco and Fakarava.

Wayne’s photos have been recognized since the second half of 2017.

He is one of the winners of the Ocean Geographic Pictures of the Year 2018 & 2019 and the finalist of WPY, UPY, World Shootout  and UWPC in the past few years.
