All this meant that he was used to changes and well prepared for the next Revolution, the Digital photography revolution. He bought his first digital camera in 2004. Wishing to show the beautiful underwater world to his friends he bought a housing and took his camera on many dives all over the world.
His technique and equipment improved year by year and the results were getting better and better.
He spent a lot of time in forums related to Underwater Photography to exchange knowledge with others and help people learn about that topic.
Tired of always seeing humdrum pictures in German diving magazines, he started to experiment with different things. This led him to find his own photography style.
Since 2007 he lives with his family in Switzerland and started doing Studio photography as well.
In 2012 he began to combine Studio and underwater photography by taking pictures of people in different poses underwater.
René stands for modern & fresh underwater photography free from old conventions.
