Lars Peters was born in 1975 and lives in southwest Germany and is a biologist by profession. After working as a post-doc and assistant professor for freshwater ecology at Bielefeld University in Germany, he recently decided to start a new career in the chemical industry. As a trained aquatic biologist he is interested in exploring all kind of aquatic environments from small inland streams and lakes to the wide open oceans all over the world.
Lars bought his first camera, a Canon EOS 300, in 1999 and started SCUBA diving in Germany’s largest lake “Lake Constance” several years later in 2003. Photography in general and underwater photography in particular is his favourite hobby and he tries to spend as much time as possible underwater when he is travelling. His companion on underwater and topside photo trips is his wife Helena Hombeck. Lars started underwater photography with a DSLR in the year 2010 and uses a Canon EOS 7D and 5D Mark III in an Aquatica housing.
