Francesco Turano
A passion for art, design and photography. As a child I drew with a pencil and I copied everything that intrigued me. The passion for graphic arts soon joined another great passion: nature. I was born in Calabria, on the Calabrian side of the Strait of Messina, but I half-blood Umbrian region and my second house is this land without the sea, where, thanks to my grandparents, landowners, had the opportunity to live in the country and stay forever marked by the need of regular my life with the rhythms of nature.
The Straits of Messina, for his part, did the rest, stealing the soul once and for all and dragging slowly and inexorably to explore the fantastic underwater world. Nature, sea, mountains, countryside, hiking, diving, environment, diving, drawing, photography, are today's terms that mark every day my passage on earth, and my passion has become over time a job and I chose to live a life serene, trying to do what I like and follow my natural tendencies, my instincts, my sensibilities.

La passione per l’arte, il disegno, e poi la fotografia, è nata con me. Da piccolo disegnavo e copiavo con la matita tutto ciò che mi piaceva, tutto quello che mi incuriosiva. La passione per le arti grafiche si unì presto a un’altra grande passione: quella per la natura. Sono nato in Calabria, sulla sponda calabra dello Stretto di Messina, ma ho sangue per metà umbro e la mia seconda regione è questa terra senza mare, dove grazie ai miei nonni, proprietari terrieri, ebbi la possibilità di vivere in campagna e restare per sempre segnato dalla necessità di scandire la mia esistenza con i ritmi della natura.
Il mare dello Stretto, dal canto suo, fece il resto, rubandomi l’anima una volta per sempre e trascinandomi lentamente e inesorabilmente alla scoperta del fantastico mondo sommerso. Natura, mare, montagna, campagna, trekking, diving, ambiente, immersioni, disegno, fotografia, sono oggi i termini che segnano ogni giorno il mio passaggio sulla terra; la mia passione è diventata col tempo un lavoro ed ho scelto di vivere una vita serena, cercando di fare quel che mi piace e seguendo le mie naturali tendenze, il mio istinto, la mia sensibilità . La fortuna, dopo varie peripezie, mi ha concesso di vivere il mio lavoro con accanto una famiglia, e tutto ciò è quanto basta per andare avanti soddisfatti dalle piccole cose, dalle emozioni, dalle amicizie…
Clark's first interest in photography evolved in 1975 while working for a whitewater rafting company on rivers throughout the western United States. He has traveled all over the world compiling a library of film and digital images both on land and above and below the surface of the world’s oceans. Wide-angle underwater photography is the primary focus of AquaTerra Imagery.
