UWP: STEVEN KOVACS
Steven Kovacs
was born in Canada where he began his underwater journey in the cold, rich waters surrounding Vancouver Island. He enjoys specializing in macro photography, especially animal behavior. In 2002, the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA) awarded Steven the highest honor with a Gold Medal for his Grand Prize win in the British Columbia Underwater Photographic Society international photo contest. Since then he has placed over 80 times in International photographic competitions, including the prestigious Veolia Wildlife Photographer of the year contest. He has been published in numerous books and magazines and his work has been displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the KOC Science and Sea Museum in Istanbul, to name a few.
