Bruce Shafer
Since December of 1999 when he borrowed his girlfriend’s AquaShot II for a trip to the Galapagos Islands, Bruce Shafer has been traveling and diving around the world capturing underwater images. After splitting with this girlfriend, he moved up to a Sea&Sea MotorMarine IIex, then went digital with an Olympus C-8080 and Ikelite 125 Substrobe. Bruce now uses a Nikon D500 in a Subal ND30 underwater housing with the same Ikelite 125, an Ikelite 160 Substrobe, and a Fisheye HG20DX focusing light.
Bruce doesn’t consider himself an underwater photographer per se, but more of a “Diver with a camera.”
