UWP: ANDRE SNOOPY MONTENEGRO

Andre Snoopy Montenegro is a third-generation diver with a soft spot for the ocean and its conservation. Snoopy, as he is fondly called, started diving when he was only seven years old. At age 16, he became a certified diver who enjoyed diving at the local Silliman Beach. After earning a degree in Civil Engineering from Silliman University in 1996, Snoopy went on to become a dive instructor and became the youngest and the first Filipino PADI Instructor in Negros Oriental in 1996. He took the reigns of Scuba Ventures www.dumaguetedive.com 
from his dad Larry the following year.

He is an award winning underwater photographer, though he only started serious underwater photography in the year 2010. To name his achievements, he was awarded as "Photographer of the Year"- Compact category, First & Third place over all- First place in Macro Category of the Splash Nudi Underwater Photo Shootout (SNUPS) which was held in Manila last July 2011 and MAD 7 special Edition May 2011 Bohol Regional Champion – Open Category. In 2010, he won at the National MAD 7 Bohol in November, “Best of Show “and First & Third prize - Intermediate category. 

His set up includes a Canon Powershot G11 with Canon housing, ultralite arm and tray, Sea and Sea Ys-01 strobe, optic cord, UN wet lens and snoot. His passion for underwater photography made him upgrade his set-up (most of which were prizes from the competitions he won). He is currently using a Canon 550D with Ikelite housing, YS-110a Sea&Sea Strobe with 100mm Canon lens.
